SaaS for data intelligence
Boxever
From travel technology to an enterprise customer data platform.

The context
Boxever was building advanced customer data and personalisation technology at a time when real-time customer intelligence was still emerging. Initially rooted in travel, the opportunity was to evolve the business into a broader enterprise customer data platform with relevance across multiple industries. As the category matured, Boxever's capital needs shifted from early validation to enterprise scale, capital efficiency, and ultimately strategic readiness. The challenge was not simply raising capital, but ensuring the business was positioned correctly as its ambition and scope expanded, so the right partners engaged at the right moments and long-term value was preserved.
The contribution
We worked closely with Boxever across its growth journey, evolving how the business was positioned and perceived as it expanded in scope and ambition, and aligning capital strategy to each phase of maturity.
In the early stages, Boxever was positioned as a data intelligence platform with relevance beyond a single vertical, supporting seed funding and early institutional backing. This framing helped establish credibility with enterprise customers and investors at a formative stage of the category.
As enterprise traction increased, the narrative evolved to emphasise real-time personalisation, platform value, and strategic relevance within complex enterprise environments. This positioning enabled Series A investment from experienced enterprise SaaS investors and supported international expansion.
Later, as the business matured, Boxever was repositioned for growth equity and non-dilutive capital. This supported continued scale while preserving flexibility, ownership, and strategic optionality as the company prepared for longer-term outcomes.
The outcome
Through a positioning-led capital approach, Boxever progressed through multiple phases of growth with capital structures aligned to its maturity at each point. This resulted in the successful securing of:
• $500k in seed and early-stage capital
• $5m Series A from Polaris Partners, Delta Partners, and Frontline Ventures
• $15m+ in growth equity from Polaris Partners, Delta Partners, and Frontline Ventures
• Venture debt from institutional lenders, undisclosed
This disciplined capital journey positioned Boxever as a strategic enterprise customer data platform and ultimately supported a €100m+ acquisition by Sitecore, delivering a strong outcome for founders and investors.
